Packed House at Microsoft Windows 7 Sneak Peek Event, October 1, 2009

Matson & Isom Technology Consulting (MITC) held a Microsoft Windows 7 Sneak Peek on October 1, 2009 for local businesses in Chico, CA. Tyler Smith, Chief Technology Officer at MITC, presented highlights of the soon-to-be-released version of Windows to a packed house in the Founder's Room at the Golden Valley Bank. Key elements highlighted during the presentation and demonstration of Windows 7 included:

• Working efficiently with many open application
• Finding your information quickly and efficiently
• Mobile Security
• Application Compatibility

David Kirkman, Partner Technology Strategist for Small and Midsized Businesses at Microsoft Corporation came up from Sacramento, CA especially for this event. “Matson & Isom Technology is the partner we work with in this area,” Kirkman said in his address to the attendees. “This is the best Sneak Peek for Windows 7 I’ve seen so far.” 
Matson & Isom Technology Consulting is a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner and has been using Windows 7 since the Beta release in January 2009.  The new version of Windows was well received by all attendees, and some even said they planned to purchase it when it is released on October 22, 2009.

WILLOWS, CA— The County of Glenn Board of Supervisors extended the three year Technical Services contract with Matson & Isom Technology Consulting (MITC) for a fourth year. Under the terms of the contract, MITC provides county departments with comprehensive information technology services and system operations management including daily on-site support, strategic planning, system maintenance, performance monitoring, end-user training, vendor management, web development, and IT Help Desk services.

“Matson & Isom and the County of Glenn have enjoyed a positive working relationship over the past three years” states MITC President Jim Umenhofer.  “Through collaboration and economy of scale, we have been able to help county personnel more efficiently and effectively provide the necessary support to all the citizens in the communities they serve.”

Several representatives from the various County departments spoke at the meeting in support of the contract extension.  "What Matson & Isom has done very well is put the customer at the center and develop their work plan around what is necessary in the business case, not what is desired or what is discretionary . . . This contract speaks to the genuine partnership that has been developed.” noted Glenn Human Resource Agency Director Kim Gaghagen during the extension proceedings before the County Board of Supervisors.

Citing consistency in response and quality in delivery over the past three years, the Board approved the extension on a 4-1 vote.
