It's the moment we've all been waiting for! Well some of us more than others...but the the official release of Microsoft's new operating system, Windows 7, is officially upon us. We've been using Windows 7 interally for several months now and are very impressed. Not only does Windows 7 install very quickly (averaging around 20 minutes), but it has a great interface, too! It looks very similar to Vista, but with a slightly smoother, sleeker, more polished face.
Windows 7 is built on elements that originally debuted in Windows Vista, but they've worked out all the kinks, so in day-to-day use, it is almost graceful. It runs well even on older workstations. Though Microsoft usually gravitates toward making their next operating system bigger and better than the version previous, this time it's simply better; Windows 7 actually uses less memory and consumes less disk space than Windows Vista.
So what does this mean for you? It's faster. It loads faster. It searches faster. It operates faster. We could go on and on, but we'll save the rest for another day. All-in-all, we love Windows 7. Great job, Microsoft!
